We run a series of events each year; Cruising, Social and Training activities.  This page lists all upcoming events in date order.

Our monthly club meetings are normally held at 8pm on the first Tuesday of each month at, the Binfield Club, RG42 4HP.

Each Cruising trip has a "Deposit event" in the list below to sign onto initially so we can book charters. This will be followed by a "Balance payment event" published nearer the date of the trip.

    This one needs to be booked early to secure the boats!

    Setting off from Largs, Scotland, and sailing across to the Island of Ireland, with the possibility of Belfast, Larne, The Antrim coast (Game of Thrones) and the Giants causeway all in reach.

    The cost of the charter per person is expected to be around £550 per person, based on a crew of five and a club skipper.

    An initial non-refundable deposit of £100.00 is required to secure your place on this trip.

  • Secrets of the Solent with Jasmine Noble-Shelley, Maritime Archaeology Trust

    The Solent may be one of our favourite sailing grounds, but beneath its familiar waters lies a remarkable and often unseen maritime history.

    Join Jasmine Noble-Shelley of the Maritime Archaeology Trust for a fascinating journey beneath the surface as we explore six significant shipwreck sites in the Solent, five of which are Protected  Wrecks. From the vessels’ careers afloat, through their loss and lives underwater, to their eventual rediscovery and investigation, these wrecks reveal stories of both naval and merchant ships and chart the evolution of shipbuilding technology during England’s emergence as a major maritime power.

    We’ll also discover how cutting-edge 3D technology is transforming the way archaeologists investigate, record and understand underwater heritage, bringing these hidden sites to life in ways that were previously impossible.

    So come and discover some of the secrets beneath our favourite stretch of water.

    The talk will also be available via Zoom for those joining us remotely.

    Always wondered what the sail tweakers were doing? Want to know when and when not to use the vang? And when to use the outhaul? Or just looking to go faster and sail better. This weekend is all about practising sail trim. Skippered by George Hoskins, RBYC's tweaker-in-chief, this is a great weekend to improve your sailing technique.

    26-10 Buoy Hunt (Deposit)

    The annual close of the year - the hotly contested annual buoy hunt. Something  between orienteering by boat, chess and a game show, sail to as many buoys as you can in the time set aside to score points - with prize giving over dinner and the opportunity to be the winning boat. Last year we had four boats out - lets see if we can make it five this year!
